At the end of each year, I love to look back and reflect on my best fashion moments. Usually I only have a few that I deem noteworthy, but this year I upped my style factor and really brought my “ A-Game.” So instead of my fabulous fashion moments that I brought you in 2015, I’m celebrating 16 of my sweetetst style moments of 2016.
If I had to pick a time that everything was perfect and all the fashion gawds blessed my dress game, it was this day. This may be my favorite look of the year.
This year I played with neutrals big time, especially grey. I had so much fun with this look. The fringe sweater is a showstopper and the nude heels were my go-to all summer long.
Everyone knows I love a good thrift store find. The beaded vintage skirt was a fabulous find and a statement piece in my closet. I loved this look so much, I wore it out on my birthday.
Here’s another deal that I dolled up . I scored this Who What Wear Collection ruffle blouse for less than $10. Who knew it was this fab that it would make “My sweet 16 of 2016.”
This year I decided to give myself a few themes to keep me motivated about posting daily outfit looks and one of those themes was “ All White “ looks. Pretty simple , but the challenge was to make sure each look was different , fashion forward, and budget friendly. This was favorite look from the challenge.
Style Guide: 3 Ways to Dress Up Your Favorite T-Shirt, Featuring Produce Section Clothing’s “Just Fresh” Tee
I also played with color and prints , big time. Here I styled a Produce Section t-shirt with my thrifted yellow leather skirt. Yellow leather? I couldn’t believe it either , but it worked and this look turned out hot!
I was pretty creative this year taking pieces that were meant to serve another purpose and changed things around. This swimsuit cover up turned into a beautiful tunic , to give me the perfect summer slay.
So I’ve never been a huge fan of maxi dresses , but I became a believer after trying this red floral number.
I’m a true girly girl and nothing is more ladylike than lace. This lace dress really helped my showcase my feminine side. And the tassel sandals were a must-have in 2016.
Style Files: Romeo and Juliet Couture Faux Fur Striped Sweater
I also took risks this year. This black and white faux fur Romeo and Juliet Couture sweater screams risk taker. It also made me look like an extra from Scream Queens. I could totally be a Chanel.
I gave y’all old school realness this year and rocked a pair of overalls that fit me like a glove. I’ve had these overalls for nearly two years but was too afraid to wear them. Why? I totally owned this look.
You’ll never see me in a pant suit or any suit for that matter, but the way I styled these matching separates from Target I might add a few to my closet in 2017 . This was definitely a power suit for sure .
I moved back to Alabama where winter is almost non existent so I didn’t think my plaid coat would really get any shine time, but boy was I wrong. This Christmas inspired look really showcased my thrifted Betsey Johnson coat that I scored for $6.
This summer I developed a uniform. I kinda wore the same thing all the time. Who’s been here before? I would style a midi solid colored dress with a kimono and a pair of sandals (heels or flats). A floral headband would set the look off. Here’s one time I nailed this look.
This is my version of laid-back chic. A pair of boyfriend jeans and a dose of sparkle and shine.
Style Files : Forever 21 Contemporary Faux Leather Shift Dress
This year was all about leather love, especially dresses. This is one of my favorite leather dresses of 2016.
