Amir James Clothiers Group is a new men’s retailer that’s dedicated to bringing you a classy and contemporary look. Amir James Clothiers Group started off as an idea three years ago by two college students, Amir Usher and James Bradford .
Usher and Bradford say they wanted to fill a void in the fashion industry and these guys have been on the quest to accomplish it ever since. Usher and Bradford are both graduates of Tuskegee University, where they studied Mechanical engineering. Now they’re using their talents in a different way —and that’s running a lifestyle brand that’s rich in quality and creativity.
AJCG carries limited quantities of merchandise that avoids trends to remain timeless in design and doesn’t cost a fortune. AJCG offers t-shirts and sweatshirts that range from $45 to $75. Their simplistic signature t-shirts remind us that less is always more. Amir James Clothiers Group is giving a fresh approach to men’s fashion and it’s definitely a “Style to Watch”.
Ooh La La Blog had the chance to interview the men behind the brand. Read the complete interview Continue Reading »

Ooh La La Blog has the honor of interviewing the up and coming celebrity stylist, Ryan Christopher. Ryan currently works as the assistant to celebrity stylist, Shun Melson. This opportunity has afforded Ryan the chance to style the likes of Fantasia, Nene Leakes, Kim Zolciak, SWV, and Jeezy. It was such an inspiring experience to speak with Ryan Christopher, an individual who is making his mark in the fashion industry.
Ryan graduated from Miles College with a degree in Business Administration. It was at Miles College, where Ryan laid the ground work to launch his career. Ryan says he put on fashion shows at the college. He says, “ I was amazed at how HBCUs students dressed up going to class, it was truly shocking! So I wanted to create something to show students you could be fashionable for all aspects during your college career.”
Through this experience, Ryan began producing fashion shows left and right. His expertise took him all the way around theglobe and back. He produced shows in Africa and for Saks Fifth in Birmingham, Alabama.
While Ryan says he enjoyed producing fashion shows, his passion was solely in styling. Eventually he broke away from producing fashion shows, and starting styling full time. It was as Ryan calls it, “the beginning of a new beginning.”
Ryan is making his presence known in the fashion industry, and his style is certainly the one to watch, especially on your favorite celebrities since he’s dressing them.

Henry Spencer, is the brain child behind the contemporary women’s line, Golden Hanger. Golden Hanger specializes in custom made dresses, leggings, skirts, and anything feminine. The up- and coming fashion designer, is coming down from a creative high after presenting his latest collection, Rouge. After giving you some of his best work, Henry Spencer is not done yet. He’s hard at work on a new collection.
In a year Henry has racked up an extensive resume. He has showcased two collections, participated in a west coast fashion show, been featured in Ambassador Magazine, and hosted a celebrity fashion show for athletes adopting families.
For this Detroit native, his love for fashion started at childhood. His parents were his inspiration, they always dressed to impress. Henry says, he can remember shopping with his parents and grandparents and never getting bored. He was also voted “Best Dressed” in high school. Dressing nice was second nature to him stating that “I don’t really put that much into what I wear. I just do it.” His effortless approach is working. His dress game is just as amazing, as the garments he creates.
But it was a trip to Chicago that sparked a passion for designing clothes. He says visiting the stores on Magnificent Mile for the first time assured him that the fashion industry was, where he was meant to be. Ever since that trip he’s been creating, what we now know as “ Golden Hanger.”
Golden Hanger’s presence on the major fashion front will be seen sooner then later. Ooh La La Blog had the honor to interview the founder and creative director to find out the ups and downs of the fashion industry, as well as the inspiration behind his clothing line. During Milan’s Fashion Week , designer Peter Dundas showcased his Emilio Pucci’s Spring 2011 collection. While I enjoyed taken a blast in the past with his Seventies inspired looks, it was these over-the- knee boots that blew my mind. I’m sure these boots will be the future and a style to watch.
These boots haven’t hit the market, but L’Wren Scott has a similar pair over at Barney’s for a suggested retail price of $2,725. Check them out below.
Tell us if this is a style you will watch.
