This awards season is turning out to be one of my favorites. The fashion moments have lived up to all the hype and last night was no different. The 45th NAACP Awards brought out some of the best in Hollywood. Take a look at some of my favorite looks from the night.
Tatyana Ali got super sexy in a semi sheer gown that featured black and metallic silver embellishments throughout. The gown also features a plunging neckline and train.
She looks gorgeous.
Tika Sumpter went sultry in a nude colored Johanna Johnson slip dress. “The Haves and the Have Nots” star gave us old Hollywood glamour with her red lips and wavy hair.
Brown bombshell indeed!
Brandy is also on my best dressed list. Her black lace and sheer Jean Fares Couture gown looks amazing. B-Rocka wins literally and figuratively. “The Game” star won an image award for her role as Chardonnay Pitts.
Bringing color to the carpet, Nia Long looked gorgeous in green. The “Best Man Holiday” actress wore a Nicole Miller halter gown. Does she ever look bad? Nope.
Naomie Harris nailed it in a gold Valentino gown. The ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’ star gives me effortless chic on the regular. I don’t know if it’s the minimal make up or the simple hairstyle , but the less is more look works in her favor.
Last night was the perfect example. The “Bond Girl” let her gown do all the talking. She styled it with a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and clutch.
Regina King spiced things up in a form fitting Michael Costello gown. The black number features a cut out on the bodice along with gold hardware.
Regina Hill also went with a black number for the night. The “About Last Night” actress was classic in a V-neck gown.
Oh baby! Kerry Washington and her baby bump were on full display last night at the Image Awards. The mommy-to-be wore a custom made Thakoon dress. The blue and coral strapless number wasn’t my favorite maternity look on the “Scandal” star, but she’s glowing and that counts for a lot.
A fishtail braid and pink lip finished Kerry’s look.
Lupita Nyong’o was once again the belle of the ball. Were you expecting anything less? The actress and certified style star donned a burnt orange Givenchy dress from the designer’s pre -fall 2014 collection.
The dress features a plunging neckline, a cinched waist, and pleated skirt.
She styled the look with a gold accessories including a banging cuff. Matching Givenchy sandals were also added to the look.
Metallic eye shadow , a red lip, and fun new hair style completed Lupita’s red carpet moment.
And of course she walked away a winner. The “12 Years a Slave” star has been racking up the awards.
Congratulations to all the winners.
Sweeties, who made your best dressed list?
