The Accessory Council of New York City named Kanye West the 2010 Style Maker of the year, at its annual Accessories Council Excellence (ACE) Awards Gala. The gala highlights individuals and brands that have made a significant contribution to the accessories industry. During Kanye’s acceptance speech, he thanked Marc Jacobs for giving him an opportunity to design a shoe with Louis Vuitton. He also expressed hurt because the experience was over.
Do you think Kanye is deserving of the Style Maker of The Year Award? He did start the Rosewood Movement and designed a shoe for Louis Vuitton, but is that enough to be crowned The Style Maker of 2010. For some it’s not, for others they say he’s much more then a movement and a brief stint as a designer. They consider him an artist and his closet is the canvas. His creativity is shown through his music as well as his dress game.
Check out pictures of Mr. West and his one of a kind style throughout 2010.
For all you Foamposite heads, Nike has struck again. This time around Nike Air Foamposite One is introducing you to a new colorway: “pewter”. Nike engineering really tackles the task of bringing the pewter color scheme to life. By making its appearance a dead-on match to the mallable alloy of tin, this silver grayish sneaker is indeed a “show stopper”. If you plan on purchasing these sneakers, mark your calendars for March 2011.
Mogul Kimora Lee Simmons recently tweeted this picture of her wearing an embellished dress. When I saw the picture I immediately thought of the reality star Antonio “Toya” Carter. Toya wore the dress this Summer at the BET Awards Show. Toya rocked the dress with fuchsia peek-toe pumps, while Kimora wore gold Christian Louboutin sandals with the dress. The dress it self is beautiful. The embellishment takes this mini dress to another level. There is also an open back. I initially saw the dress on Asos.com before I saw it on both of these ladies This was back in April and after the reality star wore it in June it was sold out.
Since the only picture I could find of Toya was with the other people I included the 360 cam that BET used at the awards show.
